Brian is passionate about leveraging tools, technologies, and organization to continuously improve and simplify processes.
Brian started his career in genomics and bioinformatics (bringing simplicity to large sequencing datasets), as it combined his love for biology, statistics, and technology. While working at a microbiome genomics company from an analyst to a manager, Brian discovered his passion for project management and operations while growing and leading a service delivery team and managing numerous projects of a wide range of size and complexity. Brian onboarded and optimized several software solutions to streamline operations, project management, and communication. Brian has also collaborated on many projects with scientific researchers, leading to him co-authoring over 20 scientific publications.
Brian enjoys discovering and optimizing software to streamline processes. At his previous company, Brian introduced the company to the productivity software, Notion, which consolidated a few tools used across the company for meeting notes, SOPs, and knowledge sharing. Due to Brian’s activity and length of time using the project management tool, Asana, he’s a Certified Ambassador!
Brian loves spending time with his husband, Colby, and their two cats, Renly and Simon. Colby makes Brian laugh multiple times a day. Renly and Simon are best friends and partners in crime (and do absurd cat things that also make Brian laugh multiple times a day).
Everything Everywhere All at Once is Brian’s favorite movie. It’s an absolutely absurd movie covering infinite realities, at least five genres, googly eyes, hot dog fingers, and talking rocks... yet at the end of the day it is a simple and beautiful family story about cherishing the special moments in our crazy lives.
Brian can’t live without caffeine (any form, usually a matcha or an americano) and music (listening, concerts, rhythm video games, snapping his fingers to whatever's in his head while he’s walking).
