Emily earned her bachelor's degree in biology with the intention to go to medical school, but when she realized real life was not exactly like Grey's Anatomy, she shifted gears. Emily earned her master's degree in health promotion in Ireland, where she had two goals: to learn how to make healthy choices easy choices and to travel as much as possible. After getting started in the field of health hazards preparedness, a chance interaction led Emily to work for a non-profit organization creating and providing leadership development curriculum for women. This experience ignited Emily's passion for helping others learn and grow. After leaving the non-profit, Emily joined the University of Louisville Division of Infectious Diseases in a chief of staff role, with responsibility for oversight of finance, human resources, clinic management, clinical research, and grant management activities.
Emily is always reading, whether it's a novel, online newspaper, Instagram post, or the cereal box.
Emily is passionate about women's leadership and serves on the national board of her sorority to make sure it is a positive and valuable experience for young women.
Emily loves to take walks with her husband Josh, son Colin, and basset hound, Beauregard.
