Jason is passionate about helping leaders and organizations thrive by guiding them to understand human emotion and the impact their presence has on an individual, the team, a guest, and the organization's culture.
Jason has been in a few leadership roles for 25 years that focus on developing emotionally intelligent leaders, building healthy teams, and creating experiences guests love. Jason uses various avenues to accomplish this work including being a coach, consultant, keynote speaker, author, podcast host, and university professor. He values the opportunity to invest in people and help them feel what it's like to thrive.
Jason has volunteered several times at the Atlanta Mission. He loves the work being done through that ministry. In fact, one man that used to be housed there going through the treatment program eventually became his good friend and they are still friends today.
Jason's work path could appear strange, especially when you see his TiER1 title. Most of Jason's work career has been in large churches. There he learned and practiced how to deeply care for people, how to facilitate, how to give a talk, how to understand people and use questions to help them find clarity and get unstuck, and how to get thousands of volunteers to buy into a mission and commit their time to the work each week. Jason's educational degree path (from undergrad through doctoral degrees) coincides with the above journey: English and Christian Studies, Theology, Biblical Languages, Hospitality, and Leadership Trauma.
Jason's favorite movie is The Last Castle and his favorite series is Band of Brothers. Both of these depict two types of leadership and the impact it has on followers. In addition, the type of leadership invites or discourages others from also becoming a leader.
