Sam Seymour

What She’s Passionate About

Sam is super passionate about animals and animal welfare. She has volunteered at an animal shelter for six years and has two cats. Her capstone was a dog adoption app!

Her Professional Experience

Sam is from Northern Kentucky and recently graduated from DAAP in early 2021. She’s had experiences at UC's College of Law, a dog food/treat company in Milford, OH called the Better Choice Company, and a UX/UI application company in Cincinnati called HOMEĒ. She split her time between a lot of branding, promotional, social media side of design, and also the UX/UI side of design, loving everything having to do with websites and applications. Sam likes to say she has a good foundational base in all aspects of design but deeper roots in Print and UX/UI.

What Might People Say About You

When Sam is not designing, she's constantly looking at the packaging around her at the grocery store, the logos on trucks as she's driving to work, or the signage on buildings in a new city, always finding design and visual inspiration in each area.

All-time Favorite

"Design is everything. Everything!" (Paul Rand). Sam believes this quote encouraged her to look around to see how everything we touch, or see, was designed. The phone you're holding, the paper on the bulletin board, each design has a purpose and communicates to each viewer. Along with that, each viewer has their own interpretation and experience with that design.

Basic Needs

Sam can't live without coffee or her cats.
