Tim is passionate about building creative experiences to boost learning and collaboration.
Tim wields the alchemy of design, curiosity, storytelling, and visual thinking to create meaningful, substantive change for people and organizations. Often the focus is on helping teams solve challenges around culture, vision, strategy, and alignment. Tim pioneered XPLANE’s learning offerings including the inaugural “Visual Thinking Boot Camp” and more recently “Storytelling for Change” courses. He was a guest presenter at Adobe’s CS4 global launch event and took first place in Portland’s inaugural Cut & Paste design competition. Tim has been practicing this brand of dark sorcery for about 25 years through various design roles at several agencies in Boston and the Pacific Northwest.
Tim loves a stage—where many people fear public speaking, Tim embraces the moment, and though he can at times overshare, it's always entertaining to watch him do his thing.
Tim is the father of three above-average children. A data-science major at the University of Washington, a music composition and technology major at Willamette University in Salem, and a high school senior who will likely change the world in subtle ways. The family pet is a well-mannered garter snake named Speedy.

Tim fronted a 10-piece hip-hop band in the 90's, opening for bands like Biohazard and De La Soul. He was the rapper.
