About the Excellence in Learning & Performance Awards Program
Within the learning and development field, 5.6 percent of learning managers identify as Black/African American, 9 percent as Hispanic or Latino, 2.2 percent as Asian, and 89 percent as white. (Data cited from Chief Learning Officer, 2019)
We recognize that inequities exist and that there is a gap in the advancement of people of color in the learning and performance field. Leaders of color have innovated and implemented solutions that realize greater potential of people in the workforce, and yet they face systemic biases that create barriers for building momentum for their work.
The Learning & Performance Excellence Awards were created to better amplify the voice and visibility of people of color who are leaders in their field and doing work that helps realize the fullest potential of people. This award is open to persons of color who have led innovation, built momentum, or overcome barriers that resulted in healthier, higher-performing organizations.
We extend our sincerest congratulations to the award winners and finalists for this year’s Excellence in Learning & Performance Awards. Nominations for the 2022 Excellence in Learning & Performance Awards will open in Spring 2022.
